URBAN SPIRIT

Op 10 en 11 oktober 2026 verandert de Grote Zaal van Theater Zuidplein in het bruisende hart van Urban Spirit. Dit internationale urban arts festival, een samenwerking tussen Xclusiv Company en Hip Hop Ladies Turkey, brengt dans, muziek, performance en verhalen samen.

Tijdens dit tweedaagse festival ontmoet je vrouwelijke makers uit verschillende landen, culturen en generaties. Je ziet energieke hiphop battles, indrukwekkende showcases, freestyle, choreografieën en persoonlijke verhalen. Daarnaast zijn er workshops, gesprekken en ontmoetingen tussen artiesten en publiek.

Op het programma staan onder meer Females in Motion, Girls in Motion, de duo-battle Bonnie & Clyde en Female Voices, waarin inspirerende verhalen en perspectieven centraal staan. De eerste dag draait om ontwikkeling, ontmoeting en uitwisseling. Op de tweede dag beleef je de finales, performances, internationale shows en een feestelijke afsluiting.

Urban Spirit is meer dan een wedstrijd of voorstelling. Het is een totale festivalervaring waarbij je als publiek dicht op de energie van de dansers zit. Verwacht sterke performances, internationale ontmoetingen en verhalen die laten zien hoe dans mensen met elkaar verbindt.

On 10 and 11 October 2026, the main hall of Theater Zuidplein will be transformed into a vibrant arena for Urban Spirit: an international urban arts festival bringing together dance, music, performance, storytelling and community.

This year’s Rotterdam edition will unite dancers, artists and communities from different cultures, generations and backgrounds. Urban Spirit is dedicated to supporting the development and visibility of girls and women through dance, creativity and self-expression.

Across two inspiring days, audiences can experience energetic hip-hop battles, international showcases, freestyle, choreography, workshops and personal stories. The first day focuses on development, connection and artistic exchange, while the second day is dedicated to final battles, performances, international shows and a shared celebration.

Programme highlights include Females in Motion, Girls in Motion, the duo battle Bonnie & Clyde and Female Voices, placing inspiring voices and female perspectives at the centre of the festival. 
Urban Spirit is more than a competition and more than a show.
